Sanskrit Name: Urdhva Mukha Svanasana

English Translation: Upward Facing Dog Posture


Urdhva - Upward

Mukha - Facing

Svana - Dog

Asana - Posture



How to:

  • Begin in Chaturanga or a High Plank.

  • Straighten the arms, drop the hips and stretch the legs back pressing the tops of the feet down, while lifting the thighs up off the floor.

  • Drop the head back, looking at the nose.
